Ligee Gu is of counsel to the firm and has focused her practice on bankruptcy, restructuring, and commercial litigation since 2010. She represents debtors, unsecured creditors’ committees, individual creditors, post-confirmation trustees, and other estate fiduciaries in complex insolvency matters.

Ms. Gu’s practice focuses on representation of nearly all interested parties in commercial bankruptcy cases, with an emphasis on post-confirmation trust representation. She has significant experience representing estate fiduciaries and creditors in asset sales, reviewing and reconciling claims as part of the trust administration process, addressing tax related matters, and handling preference and fraudulent transfer litigation, as well as other estate recovery actions. Her practice also includes commercial litigation both within and outside bankruptcy proceedings, including disputes involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, insurance coverage, and judgment enforcement and collection.

Ms. Gu also has considerable experience with debtor representations, including chapter 11 and chapter 7 case, as well as subchapter V filings. She also has represented creditor committees as well as creditor committee members in significant bankruptcy cases.

Ms. Gu is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern District of New York. Ms. Gu served as a former officer of the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), and co-founded AABANY’s Commercial Bankruptcy & Restructuring Committee.
