Mr. Halperin has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1990. He is the founding member of Halperin Battaglia Benzija, LLP, a New York City-based law firm specializing in bankruptcy and insolvency law since 1999. Prior to founding his own firm, Mr. Halperin was an associate attorney for six and one half years in the bankruptcy and restructuring department of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, a law firm with a national reputation in the insolvency field, and was a name partner in Pick & Halperin, LLP, a well-regarded bankruptcy boutique.

Mr. Halperin’s professional experience includes serving as a post-confirmation trustee, plan administrator and other post-confirmation fiduciary roles. He also regularly represents post-confirmation fiduciaries and oversight boards, unsecured creditors’ committees, chapter 11 debtors, and creditors of all types, in numerous jurisdictions around the country. In addition, he has managed complex litigation as well as mass preference prosecution, as well as claims and distribution processes on behalf of post-confirmation trusts, prosecuted and defended thousands of preference actions, and has served as an expert witness on bankruptcy issues.

Mr. Halperin’s broad-based experience, both as a restructuring attorney and a post-confirmation trustee and plan administrator, makes him uniquely qualified to administer post-confirmation trusts and wind-down estates. He has a considerable amount of expertise in efficiently and properly administering post-confirmation trusts, overseeing litigation, claims analysis and distributions, fulfilling other responsibilities and addressing issues that arise in these roles, and guiding the post-confirmation process to an orderly conclusion.
