Jocelyn Keynes Szekretar has been practicing law since 1998, concentrating the majority of her practice on corporate and financial restructuring, creditors' rights, and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.  Prior to joining Halperin Battaglia & Raicht, Ms. Keynes Szekretar was an associate in the New York office of a large mid-Atlantic firm.

Ms. Keynes Szekretar represents financially distressed companies, officers and directors, chapter 7 and 11 trustees, debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors, individual secured and unsecured creditors, financial institutions, landlords, investors, and asset purchasers in various industries.  She also advises businesses, and lenders, on bankruptcy contingency planning and restructuring implementation.  

In addition to her corporate restructuring practice, Ms. Keynes Szekretar routinely represents individuals and businesses in commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Keynes Szekretar previously served as a judicial aide to the Honorable Judge Ivan L.R. Lemelle of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of LA.  She is a recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence.  Ms. Keynes Szekretar is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 1998.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1995.  Ms. Keynes Szekretar is admitted to practice law in both New York and Florida, and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.

Ms. Keynes Szekretar is an active member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, the New York County Lawyers Association, the New York Women's Bar Association and the National Association of Women Lawyers.
