Carrie
E. Mitchell has been practicing bankruptcy law since
2001. Ms. Mitchell has considerable experience
representing official committees, individual creditors,
liquidation trustees and chapter 11 debtors, in such cases as Lionel,
L.L.C., RF Cunningham, Inc., Futter Lumber Corp., and Shapes/Arch
Holdings LLC. Ms. Mitchell also has particular expertise in
litigating preference and fraudulent conveyance actions on behalf of
committees, post-confirmation liquidation trusts and
representing corporate and individual defendants in such
cases. Ms. Mitchell also represents corporate clients
in commercial matters both in and outside of bankruptcy.
Ms. Mitchell is admitted to the bars of New York, and New Jersey, and
the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern
Districts of New York. She graduated from Tulane
University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business (2001) and received
her law degree from Brooklyn Law School (2004). While in law
school, Ms. Mitchell served as a student clerk for the Honorable Robert
E. Gerber in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern
District of New York. She is a member of the New York County
Lawyers Association.
