Carrie E. Essenfeld
Carrie E. Essenfeld has been practicing law since 2004. Ms. Essenfeld has considerable experience representing official committees, individual creditors, liquidation trustees and chapter 11 debtors, in such cases as Lionel, L.L.C., RF Cunningham, Inc., Futter Lumber Corp., Shapes/Arch Holdings LLC, and Word World, LLC. Ms. Essenfeld’s expertise includes both the prosecution and defense of preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, as well as litigating commercial disputes both in and out of bankruptcy. Ms. Essenfeld also represents corporate clients in commercial litigation, the enforcement and collection of judgments and other business matters.
Ms. Essenfeld is admitted to the bars of New York, and New Jersey, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. She graduated from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business (2001) and received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School (2004). While in law school, Ms. Essenfeld served as a student clerk for the Honorable Robert E. Gerber in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
