Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP is a dynamic firm dedicated to providing its clients with quality legal services at highly competitive rates. The firm's primary practice area is bankruptcy, including out-of-court restructurings, chapter 11 reorganization and liquidation cases, debtor-creditor litigation and transactional advice. The firm also practices in the related areas of commercial litigation, foreclosures, contracts, general corporate law and corporate services.
Alan D. Halperin, the founding and senior partner of the firm, received his training as part of the bankruptcy and restructuring department at the firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. In starting his own firm, Mr. Halperin was determined to create a bankruptcy boutique with the experience and skill to rival the departments of the nation's leading large firms, but with a level of efficiency and cost-effectiveness that large firms can seldom offer.
Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP achieves that combined goal. The firm has represented corporate and individual clients in their capacities as debtors, creditors, lenders, lessors, asset purchasers and avoidance action defendants, and has served as counsel to creditors' committees in cases as varied as Maidenform Worldwide, Tender Loving Care Healthcare Services, Inc., Dana Corporation, Homemaker Industries, Turner Steel, RMM Records & Video, Dean Floor Covering Company, Wyn Molded Plastics, Partsearch Technologies, and Vann's. Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP has also represented corporate debtors, including Tana Seybert, LLC, Aztec Services Group, Kenzer Corp., Realigent and US Wireless Data, and the chapter 11 trustee of Agriprocessors, in both conventional and "prepackaged" bankruptcies, and has aggressively asserted and protected the rights of those clients in all facets of bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP has represented clients in connection with claims and cases ranging in value from relatively small amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars.
Since its founding, Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP has grown to include fourteen attorneys. Lending depth and support to the firm's core bankruptcy practice are four lawyers with significant commercial litigation and corporate services expertise. The collective experience of the attorneys affiliated with Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP give the firm the depth and breadth to effectively represent clients in any and all pre-bankruptcy, bankruptcy and general commercial situations.
Christopher J. Battaglia, who became a partner in 2003, has practiced in Boston and New York, and has a broad diversity of bankruptcy experience, while Robert D. Raicht, who became a partner in January of 2004, has been counseling debtors and financially troubled businesses since 1986.
