Halperin Battaglia
Raicht, LLP is a dynamic firm dedicated to providing its clients with
quality legal services at highly competitive rates. The firm's primary
practice area is bankruptcy, including out-of-court restructurings,
chapter 11 reorganization and liquidation cases, debtor-creditor
litigation and transactional advice. The firm also practices in the
related areas of commercial litigation, foreclosures, contracts and
general corporate law.
Alan D. Halperin, the
founding and senior partner of the firm, received his training as part
of the bankruptcy and restructuring department at the firm of Stroock
& Stroock & Lavan. In starting his own firm, Mr. Halperin was
determined to create a bankruptcy boutique with the experience and
skill to rival the departments of the nation's leading large firms, but
with a level of efficiency and cost-effectiveness that large firms can
seldom offer.
Halperin Battaglia
Raicht, LLP achieves that combined goal. The firm has represented
corporate and individual clients in their capacities as debtors,
creditors, lenders, lessors, asset purchasers and avoidance action
defendants, and has served as counsel to creditors' committees in cases
as varied as Maidenform Worldwide, Tender Loving Care Healthcare
Services, Inc., Dana Corporation, Homemaker Industries, Turner Steel,
RMM Records & Video, Dean Floor Covering Company and Wyn Molded
Plastics. Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP has also represented corporate
debtors, including Aztec Services Group, Kenzer Corp., Realigent and US
Wireless Data, in both conventional and "prepackaged" bankruptcies, and
has aggressively asserted and protected the rights of those clients in
all facets of bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Halperin Battaglia
Raicht, LLP has represented clients in connection with claims and cases
ranging in value from relatively small amounts to hundreds of millions
of dollars.
Since its founding, Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP has grown to include
nine attorneys with specialties in bankruptcy and restructuring work,
and two full-time litigators who lend depth and support to the
bankruptcy practice. The collective experience and expertise of the
attorneys affiliated with Halperin Battaglia Raicht, LLP, give the firm
the depth and breadth to effectively represent clients in any and all
pre-bankruptcy and bankruptcy situations.
Christopher J. Battaglia, who became a partner in 2003, has practiced
in Boston and New York, and has a broad diversity of bankruptcy
experience, while Robert D. Raicht, who became a partner in January of
2004, has been counseling debtors and financially troubled businesses
since 1986. Walter Benzija, who became a partner in 2008, was
previously a partner with Stevens & Lee, PC and has been practicing
bankruptcy law since 1995.
